St Enodoc Golf Club on the North Cornwall coast overlooks the Camel Estuary, with Padstow on the far side, and to the North out across the Atlantic. The location on the high sand dunes is ideal for golf combined with stunning sea views.
The club is situated in one of the driest parishes in Cornwall and being on sand is ideal for golf twelve months of the year; even in the depths of winter frost is a rarity thanks to the warm Gulf Stream climate. The area is renowned as a holiday resort and with the advent of the motorway network and the upgrading of the A30 is only about 4 hours drive from London.
The club has two courses; the Church course is the James Braid designed championship course which in September 2005 hosted the English County Finals and in July 2014 the English Women’s Amateur Championship again.
The shorter Holywell course is an ideal course for those wanting slightly less of a challenge but which features some typical links terrain.
The club is complete with practice ground, two putting greens and an excellent clubhouse complete with bars and restaurants.
STARTING TIMES: These will be in operation throughout the year on the Church Course. You should aim to be at the main clubhouse reception at least 40 minutes prior to your starting time to enable you to be booked in. If you miss your starting time it may not be possible to fit you in at a later time.
BUGGIES: The Club has buggies for hire at a cost of £30 per round, however, the use of buggies is restricted to those with exceptional circumstances and who are able to produce a medical certificate. The Club only has a limited supply of buggies – it is advised that you pre-book in advance to reserve if required.
CADDIES: Can be arranged at St. Enodoc with advance notice. Please contact the office or speak to Reception and we will be happy to help.
ETIQUETTE and SPEED OF PLAY: Players are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of others. You must not hit the ball unless it is safe to do so. A course ranger will be helping to keep play moving; please do as he asks. If you lose a complete hole, call the following group through. If you lose a ball, call the following group through sooner rather than later. 2 ball matches have priority on the courses. As a guide to the speed of play, 2 balls should expect to be on the 7th tee in 1 hour, and the 10th tee in 1 hour 30 minutes; 4 balls on the 7th tee in 1 hour 20 minutes, and the 10th tee in 2 hours.
INSURANCE: Players are advised to ensure they have adequate personal liability cover, as St Enodoc Golf Club does not provide such cover for visiting players.
DRESS REGULATIONS: St Enodoc seeks to provide an experience reflecting excellent standards both on the courses and in the clubhouse. Members and guests are respectfully reminded that we request a standard of dress to reflect those values. To avoid embarrassment please ensure that you and your party are properly attired. If you are unclear about the details of our policy, please ask a staff member for clarification.
GOLF COURSES: Ladies and Gentlemen should wear recognised golf attire. Such attire does not include blue denim, beachwear, football or rugby shirts. Please wear proper golf shoes with socks on the courses.
DOGS: We regret that visitors are not permitted to bring dogs onto the courses.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE: Smart Casual wear and spikeless golf shoes may be worn in the Reception, Conservatory and Bar Areas – Shoes must be worn in the upstairs Dining Room. Please refrain from wearing any beach attire/flip flops or caps/hats in the clubhouse.
IN THE DINING ROOM: Other than for special functions which may require a jacket and tie, smart casual is again the accepted attire. Please do not wear shorts in the Dining Room.
MOBILE TELEPHONES:
Mobile phones and similar devices may not be used for making or receiving calls either in the clubhouse or on the course except in an emergency. Mobile phones are permitted on the courses and in the clubhouse for the purpose of recording scores and as a measuring device.
SOCIETIES: Societies are most welcome and all arrangements should be agreed in advance with the General Manager and his staff to ensure that you have a good day. Societies are then asked to confirm in writing and pay an agreed deposit in advance. A wide range of meals is available in our popular restaurant, which overlooks the beautiful Camel Estuary and the 18th green.
Please contact Heather on 01208 863216 option 2 or by email at [email protected] to discuss the catering requirements for your society. The notice would be greatly appreciated.
